Sažetak
An acute infectious gastroenterocolitis belongs
to the most common diseases endangering life and health.
The Campylobacter bacteria are frequent causes of gastroenterocolitis
worldwide. The aim of the study is to compare
the efficacy and tolerability of one dose erythromycin in the
treatment of gastroenterocolitis caused by Campylobacter
jejuni and Campylobacter coli in children with the efficacy and
tolerability of the repeated application of azithromycin, which
is for the time being the drug of choice for this indication in
children. In the investigation are included 60 patients aged
from one month to seven years. The patients are divided into
two groups. Group A: one-dose azithromycin 30 mg/kg, Group
E: erythromycin in the total daily dose of 30 mg/kg during 5
days. Clinical efficacy is evaluated 72 hours after the start of
treatment. Bacteriological efficacy of the administered therapy
is established on the day 8 after the onset of therapy. Onedose
azithromycin 30 mg/kg is effective and safe in treating
children with acute gastroenterocolitis caused by Campylobacter.
