Sažetak

It has been suggested that memory has many functions, with memory consolidation being one of them. Memory consolidation is a neurological process of making permanent memories. The question that arises is: what happens to memory if sleep is distorted? One of the most common sleeping disorders is primary insomnia. Not enough research has been done on the memory of patients with primary insomnia, and those existing research methods vary significantly, which leads to results inconsistencies. This review will focus on explaining the relationship between sleep and memory in primary insomnia and aims to give a brief overview of findings in existing literature.
