Sažetak
Digital modeling of the Earth's surface by means of satellite stereophotogrammetry and remote sensing is carried out for the purpose of making a mathematically approximated surface that best suits it. The position and height of an individual point of the surface detail in relation to a reference point are determined and the interpolation between these points is visualized by the continuous approximate surface of the terrain within the design of the model. Nawdays, such models have a very wide application in different scientific disciplines and inadequate terminology. The paper presents an overview of foreign and Croatian terminology in which there is a lack of more precise definitions of terms that would clarify the semantic division of results in the process of digital modeling of the Earth's surface. In this regard,, two new terms: Digital Soil Model and Digital Scene Model were presented in the paper for the purpose of a more precise definition of the terms of the Earth's surface digital models. A brief overview of today's possibilities of digital surface modeling in the satellite stereophotogrammetry and remote sensing is also presented in relation to the spatial resolution of stereo stereotapes and the method of providing stereooverlap between them.
