Sažetak

A sample of 86 subjects, students of FFK in Zagreb, aged 20-23, was used to study the effects of basic agression on the success in full-contact karate was tested by means of regression analysis.
Interpretation of obtained correlations was done in the last space of basic aggression from which 25 factors were isolated. A high multiple correlation of isolated factors of basic aggression and success in karate of .75, and the determination coefficient of . 56 confirm the hypothesis that there is a significant effect of basic aggression on the success in this discipline. The greatest positive correlation coefficients with success in karate had those factors of aggression that had been formed as a consequence of functional characteristics of the regulary centre for attack reactions, i.e. under the effect of endogenic factors. The effect of those whose background is in the disfunction of the centre for defensive reactions and those formed under the influence of exogenic factors was poor or nonexistent.
