Sažetak

The completion of the human genome- sequencing project has enabled significant advances in molecular biology, and also opening new perspectives and opportunities in veterinary medicine. Next-generation sequencing represents significant technological progress that allows for vast improvement in the knowledge of the animal genome and its
widespread use in various fields of veterinary medicine. This paper provides a detailed description of the different methods of next- generation sequencing, listing the advantages and disadvantages of each platform.
