HELIOSEC - THE EASY WAY TO MANAGE THE RESIDUES OF PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS

Sažetak

Heliosec is a tool designed by Syngenta for the management and/or disposal of wastewater resulting from agrochemical treatments (mixture of residues in the barrel and of equipment wash water). The disposal of this kind of waste is regulated at European level by Dir. 128/2009 regarding the sustainable use of agrochemicals. Once the spraying treatment is finished, a leftover will remain in the spraying equipment. Also the water used for washing the inside and outside part of the spraying equipment contains residues of agrochemicals. The Heliosec allows to collect the leftover mixture and cleaning water while minimizing the risk of contamination of soil and water in environment. Thanks to solar radiation and wind effect the liquid contained in the bottom of Heliosec equipment evaporates leaving a thin solid layer of non‐evaporable matter. This solid layer must be disposed according to the present legislation.
