Sažetak

In this paper the authors provided an overview of activities of the Central Advisory Services of the university libraries in Split and Zadar and the libraries at the University of Dubrovnik. Central Advisory Services of the Split University Library oversees the work of academic and special libraries as well as the libraries that hold national heritage collections on the Split-Dalmatia and Šibenik – Knin counties. Zadar University Library performs functions of the Central Advisory Services for such libraries in the Zadar County, while the University of Dubrovnik libraries, although not yet formed as the University Library, performs these functions for such libraries in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Due to ambiguous legislation these libraries Central Advisory Services still have a poorly defined legal standing. After founding of the University Library Central Advisory Service Council in 2011, the collaboration between the libraries providing the Central Advisory Service and the libraries in their domains improves and the first results are observed: coordinated access to the nationally licensed scientific databases, development of the national digital repository as well as the coordination of strategic planning.
