Sažetak

The historical and cultural connections with the libraries from the Republic of Hungary resulted with a need for dictionary of librarian terminologies. With the development of the regional collection the library becomes a place of collective consciousness, a keeper of traditions and regionalism. With this it promotes the cultural values in our as well as in foreign countries. Language and culture are the basic means by which culture, beliefs, values, norms and views of the world are carried forward. They make communication among people from different cultures possible. The little Croatian – Hungarian dictionary of librarian terminologies was made because of the need of establishing basic communication among the librarians. It is dedicated to the cooperation of librarians and to everyone who is working on preserving culture and tradition.
