Sažetak

Of the sample of 24782 pupils of finishing secondary school forms investigation was carried out with the purpose to determine, among others, the degree of connection between kinesiological preferences and general school success as the traditional measure of school tasks fulfilment. It was found out that pupils with different kinesiological preferences differed significantly in general success were mostly thoes who prefered wrestling and boxing, while those who prefered judo were in most cases very good or excellent pupils. In the case of games those who prefered fotball were the worst and those who prefered volleyball were the best pupils. The school success of the pupils who prefered skiing, gymnastics and swimming was considerably better than the success which could be expected on the basis of mark distribution.
Analyses with sex as control variable showed that relations between kinesiological preferences and school success were dependent on this control variable. The most remarkable differences were between boys and girls who had no kinesiological preferences. While boys without kinesiological prefrences had better school success, girls not preferring any of the kinesiological activities had significantly worse marks than girls preferring any of the kinesiological activities.
The results of all the analyses were interpreted in the sense of sociodemographic characteristics of persons participating in different kinesiological activities and of different cognitive and conative characteristics of different sports.
