Sažetak
Stem mining weevils (cabbage and rape stem weevil) are the first pests of oilseed rape in the spring that can cause significant damage. The time of occurrence of adult forms of stem weevils and their migration into winter oilseed rape fields as well as the appearance of females in the total pest population are related to the optimal time of pest control. During the four years of research at six locations, the dynamics of the stem weevil’s population and the ratio of females in the total population (sexual index) were monitored using a yellow water traps. After sampling, both species were identified by morphological characteristics. The sexes were identified by morphological markings on the middle and hind legs of the males. The time of occurrence of rape and cabbage stem weevil is different. The occurrence of females and the ratio of females in the total population differ between the two species which
requires a thoughtful approach to pest control.
