Velocity of movementin students population

Sažetak

This research was carried out on the group of thefirst-year students (both men and women) from the Faculty of Physical Education and other faculties of the University of Zagreb. The anthropometric characteristics of students and the velocity of the horizontal abduction of the dominant arm were measured. The basic statistical parameters of the velocity of the arm within each sub-group were shown, and the differences between sexes within identical sub-groups from the Faculty of Physical Education and other faculties were analyzed by the Student T-test. The results show that the students from the Faculty of Physical Education are significantly faster in performing this movement than the students of the same age from other faculties. The velocity demonstrated by men was higher in both sub-groups than the velocity demonstrated by their female colleagues.
