Sažetak

The study was carried out on a sample of 693 Yugoslav male subjects, aged 19 to 27.8 flexibility tests and 6 tests of dynamometric force were applied. The relations between the predictory system of flexibility measures and the criterion system for assessment of dynamometric force were established by means of the regression analysis.
It was established that 4 out of 6 dynamometric measures show a positive and significant multiple correlation; on the whole flexibility tests help to explain the common variance within the tests of dynamometric force about 10%. A larger part of this variance may be attributed to regulation of tonus of the antagonists (meaning the decrease of tonus of the antagonists) while a smaller part may be due to the effect of longitudinal dimensionality of the skeleton and the muscular mass through the flexibility tests. It may be generally assumed that covariability of the tests of flexibility and dynamometric force depend on the regulatory mechanisms of the central nervous system, particularly the mechanism for synergic regulation and tonus regulation as well as the mechanism for regulation of excitement intensity.
