Canonical relations between morphological and motor and characteristics and the results in some track-and-field events

Sažetak
To the sample of 194 physical education male students, 20 to 23 years old, 15 morphological and14 motor tests were administered, together with the registration of results in six track-and-field events.
On the basis of canonical relations between morphological and motor characteristics and track-and-field events it is possible to divide these events into three groups. The first group consists of javelin throw and shot-put, which are mostly influenced by longitudinal, trasnversal and voluminal characteristics, together with absolute and relative strength. The second group is formed of 100 meters run and broad jump the success in which is determined mostly by low values in total and ballast body mass and high results in relative explosive strength, flexibility and agility. The third group consists only of 1500 meters run, the results in which are influenced mostly by relative repetitive and static strength and leptomorphic body suit.
The fourth pair of canonical factors contained too small a quantity of variance mainly about high jump to be of any interest.
