Sažetak

The sample of 375 healthy women, aged between 19 and 27 analyzed under the Hotelling's biorthogonal model of the canonical correlation analysis (1936) to arrive at the relation between a representative sample of indicators of the socio-economic status and a representative sample of indicators of the socio-economic status and a representative sample of instruments for assessment of cognitive abilities. A group of 31 status variables was selected in accordance with the phenomenological model of social differentiation designed by Saksica and Petrovič (1972) aiming to assess the position of the subject and his parents on the socialization, institutional and sanctional subsystems. The group of 9 variables for assessment of cognitive abilities was selected in accordance with the kibernetic model of sognitive functioning designed by Momirović, Šipka, Wolf and Džamonja (1978) intending to assess the efficiency of the processor for decoding and structuring of information, the efficiency of the processor for parallel processing of information and the efficiency of the processor for serial processing of information.
The results are highly congruent with those obtained by Džamonja (1976) on a similar male sample. A significant relation was found between the sociological factors and the intelligence test results. The canonical factor, derived from the measures of cognitive efficiency, is close to the general factor of cognitive abilities, bit it is more strongly defined by the efficiency of the serial processor with a significant ecosensitivity, and less by the efficiency of the perceptual processor of a relatively weaker ecosensitivity. This configuration of the general factor of intellectual abilities is related by a significant canonical correlation (0.65) to the latent dimension defined by almost all indicators of the status position, but particularly by the educational, cultural and professional status of the father, the educational status of the subject and the mother's status in the socializational and institutional subsystems.
