Some characteristics and situational precision of volleyball players

Sažetak

The sample consisted of 189 entities, aged 18 to 22. The aim was to observe the relations of some conative dimensions and situational precision, before and after partialization of morphological measures from the space of criterion group of variables for situational precision of the players.
The results obtained by canonic correlation analysis, when the effect of morphological characteristics was partialized and when it was not, indicate a small but significant negative correlation of analyzed spaces (before partialization .34 and after .32).
The greatest projections on the canonic dimensions of conative regulatory mechanisms are exerted by variables measuring dissociative behavior which is, according o the cybernetic model of conative functioning, a consequence of a disorder in the mechanism for coordination of regulatory functions.
As for the space of tests for situational precision, direct precision and elevational precision.
In comparison of magnitude and structure of the relation between the analyzed spaces, before and after partialization of morphological characteristics , no quantitative changes were observed. However, a different structure of canonic dimension was observed in the space of variables having to do with the situational precision. Namely, removal of variability of morphological measures from the group of criterion variables, pointed out finer relations between the observed conative characteristics and situational precision of the volleyball players, that was the aim of this study.
This type of approach to analysis of psychosomatic characteristics seams to be jusitified, because neutralization of even one of the many sources "noise" will contribute to a better understanding of relations among the observed characteristics.
