Sažetak

Research dealing with the relationship between the latent dimensions of the mechanism for energy regulation - MER (repetitive power -REPEET.S., static endurance - STATI. S., explosive power - EKSPL. S. and force - SILA) and the latent dimensions of situation-related efficiency in handball SER (accuracy - PRECIZ, ball handling - BARLOP, moving speed with the ball - BKSLO, moving speed without the ball - BKRBLO and the power of throwing the ball - SIZBLO) were carried out using a sample of 128 students studying at the Faculty of Physical Education, University of Zagreb.
Using Hotellings method of canonical correlation analysis, the significant, if only moderate, relationship between the latent dimensions of the mechanism for energy regulation (MER) and the latent dimensions of situation-related efficiency in handball (SER) was established (and a pair of canonical factors obtained). The first (canonical) factor in the space of energy regulation is bipolar. The repetitive power (REPET.S.) and the static endurance (STATI.S.) are clustered at the positive pole, and the explosive power (EKSPLO.S.) and force (SILA) at the negative one. The positive pole was been defined by the mechanism for the regulation of excitation duration (MRTE), and the negative one by the mechanism for the regulation of excitation intensity (MRIE). The first (canonical) factor in the space of the situation-related efficiency is unipolar. It is defined by the factors of the power of throwing the ball (SIZBLO), the moving speed without the ball (KRBLO), and the factor of the moving speed with the ball (BKRSLO).
