Faith in the Book of Revelation

Abstract

After a statistical and numerical introduction on the terminology of faith in
the Apocalypse this article offers a biblical-theological analysis of all instances of the
term faith in the Book of the Revelation. First, the author analyzes the eight instances
of pistos, “faithful/reliable”. Next there are individual explanations of the four instances
where pistis, “faith” is used. There follows a theological conclusion in four parts: liturgy
of terms, context of virtues, contrast of behavior and Christological/Ecclesiological
issues.
