Sažetak

Starting from the actuality of correlation as a religious-pedagogic principle, in the first part of the paper, the author is drawing attention to the significance of correlation for the area of the systematic theology. He did so because the necessity of the fruitful correlation of the revelation and human life, faith and human experience - what the principle of correlation tries to promote and realize - remains a permanent task of the entire theology. This involves the demand for theology to be open toward the total human reality in which addressees are to be placed. In this framework the author wants to investigate if elements representing a contribution to the correlative approach in the theological reflection can be found in the work of Romano Guardini (1885-1968), which is distinguished for a big openness toward the reality of the world.
In the second part the author analyses Guardini's understanding of 'Christian Weltanschauung', which was the framework of his theological activity and because of this it represents the hermeneutic background of the ‘opus' and with this also the key to its understanding. In the beginnings of his theological activity Guardini observed the Christian Weltanschauung as a 'view'from the faith upon the world. In his later period, in the definition of the concept of Weltanschauung 'encounter'predominates instead of 'view'. So, according to Guardini, the Weltanschauung is reciprocal encounter of faith and the world in which in the same time illuminating of the reality from faith happens and also directing the question from this reality to the address of the faith. So in the fruitful encounter of the world and the faith illuminating of the human existence takes place. With this viewing Guardini substantially comes to the immediate nearness to understand the principle of correlation, as it was formulated by his contemporary Paul Tillich and as it is understood on the area of religious pedagogy and catechetics.
Guardini realized designated correlative theological thinking, wrapped in the garment of 'the Christian Weltanschauung', in his voluminous work in concreteness. That is represented in the third part of this investigation. The very width and specific quality of the themes of his lectures designate openness to the reality of the world. Particular significance in this have then his interpretations of the texts and figures of great thinkers in the history or in his time, particularly of those who were outside the narrow ecclesiastica Catholic circle, as for instance Hölderlin and Rilke. The correlation in Guardini's theological thinking is further strongly articulated in his understanding of the relation between faith and experience when, on this way, he wants to overcome the actual disunity of faith and the world. With this new evaluation of the world in his works, Guardini gave a significant contribution to the promotion of the principle of correlation.
