Sažetak
In the last decade, the need for organizing spatial records
and their distribution instigated development of the spatial
data infrastructure at national, regional and global levels.
The initiatives taken aim at providing a quick, single and
simple access to spatial data for all interested users. One of
the requirements for Croatia to enter the European
integrations is a set-up of the national spatial data
infrastructure, which is in its beginnings. Its development has
to be in line with the general development of the country,
where social and economic aspects are of extreme
importance. For that purpose, a research was done on the
needs of spatial data producers and users for a set-up of the
national spatial data infrastructure. Furthermore, a brief
overview of the spatial data infrastructure, its parts and
included subjects has been outlined. Under review is also
the impact of collecting fees for use of spatial data on the
efficiency of the national spatial data infrastructure, which
should satisfy needs and expectations of users in all walks
of life.
