Sažetak

The analysis of the c’est que form in a literary corpus of 22 novels written in French by Spanish-speaking authors show that the form expresses causality. “C’est que” is used as a connector in the French construction si … c’est que. But c’est que is also used on its own, as a discourse marker, to indicate a causal relationship between what has been stated previously and what follows.
