Sažetak
This paper is based on the fact that the contemporary construction practice of the road design and other infrastructural systems use the digital terrain model (DTM) as the information basis in which, by using modem CAD applications, the actual design in accordance with the professional principles is being made. It is of interest for the construction theory and practice to exactly determine the volume of the road frame cut and road frame fill, when the road frame is being estimated in digital terrain models with different resolutions and different exactness. The research conducted on the representative sample of different digital terrain models is presented in this paper. Road frame volumes were calculated using the exact method of calculation. They showed different exactness of particular digital terrain models and as well different exactness for calculated road frame cut and fill. Using calculated road frame volume exactness, the system of digital terrain models with different resolutions, which is of interest for the road design praxis, is being evaluated.
