Sažetak
Great number of existing ecological methods does not include spatial component. Possibilities of collecting, processing and displaying data with the geocoding have especially progressed with the evolution of geoinformation technologies. With the application of geoinformation tools and technologies in agriculture begins the development of a new branch of economy – "Precision Agriculture". Advantages of application of GIS in ecology in evaluation and mapping of ecological parameters and processing of aero and satellite images are discussed in the paper. From the maps interesting for agricultural management, map of soils, map of nutrients in soil, climatic maps, maps of suitability indicators and fertility, optimal use, prediction of crop yield and others are especially emphasised. On the most sophisticated level of the use of GIS technology, database composted of different thematic layers/maps is being used in the modelling of features in environment. The basic principles of detailed management important factors mapping, such as coefficient of erosion, amount of drain, index of aridity, water-crop stress, suitability and other indirectly estimated parameters and the evaluation of the "plant – soil – climate" ecological model as a base for the prediction of crop yield. These principles will present basis for the future research and application in practice.
