Sažetak

Experimental investigations of laser-produced plasmas of Mg, Al and Si are described in this work. Plasmas were produced by nanosecond (6 ns) nitrogen-laser pulses (λ = 337.1 nm) with maximal energy density of about 1.1 J/cm2 and were studied by UV-VIS spectroscopy. Electron densities of the order of 1018 cm−3 and electron temperatures of about 1.5 eV in the produced plasmas have been found. Numerical modelling of target heating gives 4 – 5 times higher electron temperatures than determined in experiments. Significant change of features of laser-produced plasmas on the three neighbouring elements has not been found. We show that optical depth of the materials is the main parameter for plasma production.
