Sažetak

Hepatocutaneous syndrome is a rare metabolic disorder in dogs, defined by the presence of superficial necrolytic dermatitis, hepatocutaneous-associated hepatopathy, aminoaciduria and hypoaminoacidemia. Since in some dogs cutaneous lesions can manifest in later stages of the disease, an alternative term was proposed: aminoaciduric canine hypoaminoacidemic hepatopathy syndrome (ACHES), which includes dogs
with and without developed skin lesions. This article presents the gross and histopathological findings of hepatocutaneous syndrome in a 10 year old male Maltese dog necropsied at the Department of Veterinary Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb.
