Sažetak

The paper explores and analyses the economic thought in ancient Mespotamia, more precisely in Sumer, Babylonia and Assyria. Although there was no systematic economic thought in Mesopotamia, some economic ideas and thoughts can be found under certain provisions in the Code referring to economy, as well as in the legal arrangements of relations between participants in economy. Economic ideas and thoughts from the provisions of Ur-Nammo's Code, the Law of the Aquinas (Bilalam's Code), the Hamurabi Code, as well as the Assyrian Laws from the Tiglat-Pileser I are explored.
