Sažetak

Sitting and working at a computer causes workers to suffer stato dynamic strain that may result in muscular and skeletal disorders. The Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy has introduced an educational prevention program to counteract the computer related disorders, in the form of research and compiling a handbook for administration workers outlining proper work habits and exercise. The aim is to determine the incidence and localization of the symptoms and posture habits at work in order to establish their correlation. Data was gathered from 1307 responses to the online administered questionnaire. The incidence of disorders was assessed using the standardized nordic questionnaire, and the posture habits were assessed via 10 questions with photographs illustrating highly proper postures and extremely improper postures and movements. Their correlation was established using a series of logistic regression analyses. The significance of differences was tested using the chi-square test. Results indicate that in the past 12 months the most muscular and skeletal disorders refer to the lower back section (71.53%), neck area (69.93%), shoulders (59.83%), and upper back (56.85%). Logistic regression analyses have shown that workers who practice daily injury mechanisms have 3 times greater probability of muscular and skeletal symptoms on average (OR 3.15). Based on the results, the handbook proposes recommendations for proper movements and work, as well as special set of active rest and relief activities to be undertaken by workers in administration jobs.
