Sažetak
Integral part of the authorization of plant protection products is the exposure assessment, so-called OPEX (OPerator EXposure). The assessment includes not only the exposure of operators, but also workers, bystanders and residents. These groups are exposed to the product either intentionally or accidentally through a non-dietary route. The assessment is closely related to the toxicology assessment and is conducted on the basis of a complex models which contain data obtained from empirical research. By subsequent model testing, it can be concluded that it overestimates the exposure, which guarantees safe application for each specified group. Currently, the EFSA model from 2014 is valid until it will be officially replaced by the new EFSA model from 2022. There are also specific models for all scenarios which are not covered by the EFSA model, such as seed treatment, amateur use, application in a protected area, etc. Safe use can also be proven by submitting the adequate study.
