Abstract

At Zagreb University of Applied Sciences, as a part of the courses Protection of the Environment and the Quality of Life, Mobile Communication Networks and the internal project ICT green routes for recreation in Zagreb, a mobile application was developed for measuring the radio parameters of the mobile network while recording the corresponding geographic coordinates and the current measurement time. The application was created as a support in planning and conducting recreational walks, education of students through permanent development of the application and for teaching purposes. The measurement of the radio parameters of the network is carried out through indicators essential for high-quality data transmission between the base station and the users (signal strength, signal quality, signal-to-noise ratio, etc.). In order to test the functionality of the developed application, an analysis was carried out related to the coverage of the mobile network on the road route Zagreb west - Velika Gorica.
