Diversity of topics in English for International tourism textbooks

Sažetak

In a tourist country like Croatia, where the number of overnight stays is counted in the millions, one of the most important and most developed business branches is tourism, which has recently been increasingly hiring and investing in professional staff for who a good knowledge of the English language is one of the conditions for both employment and advancement. The purpose of this paper was to see, that is, to analyze whether there is a variety of topics in textbooks for learning English in tourism, and for this purpose, the textbooks currently offered by the publishing houses Pearson, Oxford and Cambridge were used. It was determined that they are adequate, relevant and useful, and provide everything that one textbook should currently be providing to students, that is, to future tourism workers.
