Sažetak
There is no clear consensus regarding parental separation and alienation terminology among experts and scientists in Croatia, as well as in other countries, even though these phenomena are widely spread and children from these families represent especially vulnerable population. The aim of this paper is to propose translation of certain key concepts translation and suggestions for operationalization, by taking into consideration scientific literature and clinical practice and bringing children to the fore. The key concepts discussed are divorce/separation, high conflict divorce/separation, alienating behaviour, parental alienation, alienating parent, targeted parent, alienated parent, enforcement, more attached and psychological splitting. This paper presents the first suggestion on clarification and operationalization of some key concepts from a linguistic point of view and, more importantly, in psychological terms.
