BIOTECHNOLOGY AS A FORM OF CONTROL

Sažetak

On biotechnology, and especially about its use in food production, there are different viewpoints. Some consider it to be a muchBneeded in order to win the battle against hunger and others that there only exists a goal to please a hunger for profit. The main issue in the research of these relations is a frequently conflicting data presented by either advocates or adversaries of the use of biotechnology in food production. The main goal of this paper is to examine the relation between biotechnological corporations and their possible control of three areas: food and food industry; politics and competent institutions, as well as the sciences; and, the area and the right to choose. Through these three types of relations the frequent critique of the adversaries of biotechnological corporations, that their power is also becoming to take control of the way we live, will be investigated.
