Sažetak

The significant change in climate in the last few decades made unfavourable agroecological conditions during the winegrape growing season. First, the increase in air temperature and the lack of precipitation notably reduces the grapes’ yield and quality. Due to the unfavourable structure of viticulture production in Croatia, with a lot of small vineyards, the application of vineyard irrigation is very rare. For winegrowers to have successful grape production even during unfavourable agroecological conditions, additional technology of grapevine fertilization is recommended. Primarily, biostimulators are used, but other important nutritional elements such as magnesium, copper, and potassium are also effectively used. Additional possibilities against stressful conditions are provided by the possibility of applying products based on silicon or clay and using special polymers that retain water in the soil and root zone during the dry summer period. Applying all these additional technologies, it is possible to effectively reduce the negative impact of high air temperature and lack of precipitation on grapevine cultivation.
