Sažetak
Research was conducted on 140 male students and 42 female
students in the fi nal grade of the Technical and Industrial School in Čakovec with the goal of determining the differences between male and female graduates in doing physical activities and their interest in doing specifi ed kinesiological activities. The questioned students responded to a survey related to physical activities and to their interest in doing certain sport activities. The results of the discrimination analysis showed the existence of statistically meaningful differences between male and female graduates in doing physical activities. The question most responsible for indicating the differences in groups was: “Do you do any sporting activity in your free time?” The results of the discrimination analysis show that interest in doing physical activity differs related to sex. Male graduates showed most interest in playing sporting games, riding
bicycles, swimming and skiing. Female graduates, on the other hand, like fitness, dancing, and riding bicycles. A disturbing fact is the percentage of graduates that do not wish to do any sport. The responsible social structures need to implant systems to provide
long-term results for the quality of life as a strategy of development and education of the young. Physical activity represents a protective factor of health in the most common sense, and, in the modern rhythm of life, it is a necessity as a saving factor of the quality of life.
