Abstract
When considering the problem of reservoirs, it is observable that water regime regulation poses a challenge, particularly for reservoirs with reduced reservoir volume, as is the case with the reservoir Modrac. Inefficient management and utilization of the reservoir Modrac lead to under-utilization of water resources. It is, therefore, necessary to optimize the system, i.e. develop an optimising mathematical model in order to maximize its effects. The paper provides an overview of a dynamic mathematical model for the Modrac reservoir system, including all steps in the system optimisation to achieve its more efficient management. The paper also contains several dynamic mathematical models of the operation of reservoir systems that have been developed to date both in the world and in the region. It can be emphasised that the analysed dynamic programming model of the Modrac reservoir system management is about 26.80% more efficient and operational compared to the actual Modrac reservoir system.
