Sažetak
The focus of the research is the correspondence of Mother M. Amadeja Pavlović (Petrovaradin, 1895 – Sušak/Rijeka, 1971), Provincial Superior of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross in the period from 1943 to 1955, with the Hvostan Bishop Varnava Nastić (Gary, United States, 1914 – Beočin, Serbia, 1964). The correspondence between these two honorable individuals took place over less than two years, from May 1951 to January 1953, and consists of six letters and one poem. Bishop Varnava wrote four letters and a poem, while Mother M. Amadeja authored two letters. The results of the research, carried out using the content analysis method, show that both Bishop Varnava and Mother M. Amadeja possessed a strong and refined sense of the efforts of Christian unity. In this context, the Bishop’s account of the blessed Alojzije Stepinac, Archbishop of Zagreb, is particularly valuable.
