Sažetak
This paper is the second part of the text Social assistance and social care system reform that was prepared by the authors for the section Pension system and social care within the project The Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia: Croatia in the 21 st century. The authors emphasise that it is necessary to make a reform in the social system in accordance with the economic and social development. Social assistance and social care system must be transformed according to the active social state principles. That means that it should be directed towards suppression of poverty and social integration of marginal social groups.
