Analysis of the use of streaming platforms in Northern Croatia

Abstract
Digitization of production systems directly affected the systematic change in the production and distribution of media content. The classic media industry was the first to find itself on the path of changes dictated by digital transformation. The transition from the production of classic physical media products to the production and distribution of digitized media content took place in parallel with a complete change in the habits of users of media products. Digital transformation has enabled the distribution of media content on streaming platforms and the convergence of content consumption on all types of media platforms. The aim of this paper is to investigate and analyse the use of streaming platforms in Northern Croatia, and to analyse the influence of the digital transformation of the media industry on the changes in the habits of consumers of media content in the counties of Northern Croatia. Research has shown that streaming platforms for the distribution of media content have become part of the daily life of users in Northern Croatia, and that they have already taken precedence in viewing content compared to classic terrestrial television.
