Sažetak

Speleoarchaeological survey was conducted on the islands of Ugljan and Pašman. The aim of the research was to see the archaeological potential of 11 speleological sites, 7 on Ugljan and 4 on Pašman, the speleological goal of this project was to see that all investigated caves, if not already fully documented from a speleological standpoint, were documented, digitized, and entered into the speleological cadastre. Smaller archaeological testing pits were excavated in 9 caves resulting in some interesting finds. Archaeological findings from the caves include lithic artifacts, ceramic fragments, and faunal remains. Evidence of human activity in the caves spans from the Palaeolithic to the modern era. For now, the most interesting are the findings from Vela Pećina near Kali, which indicate human occupation during the Late Upper Palaeolithic or Epigravettian culture. The results of this research highlight the potential for further archaeological excavation. This study represents a step forward in integrating speleology and archaeology to enhance the understanding of the cultural landscape of northern Dalmatia.
