Abstract

This paper examines invocation greetings in the letters included in the book
Korespondencija Vatroslava Jagića. Knjiga 1. (Zagreb, 1953). It covers around 500
letters where Jagić is either the sender or recipient. Following a brief introductory
section, there is a presentation and tabular display of invocation greetings,
followed by an analysis of their structural, linguistic, and orthographic features.
Additionally, a comparison is made with invocation greetings in other sources, predominantly
letters written in the Russian language either by Jagić or addressed
to him. Finally, the concluding part of the paper provides a summary of the key
features of invocation greetings found in the examined book of Jagić's correspondence,
emphasizing their dependence on the recipient and their place within the
epistolography of that time.
