Abstract

Occupational diseases are diseases directly induced by work and working conditions. In the Republic of Croatia, occupational diseases are recognized by the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance and are registered and monitored in the Register of Occupational Diseases of the Croatian Institute of Public Health. In order to confirm the professional etiology of a malignant tumor, the clinical entity of the disease, proven work exposure, and the latency period must be satisfied. Malignant tumors are insufficiently recognized as occupational diseases in the Republic of Croatia. The paper analyzes the dynamics and recognition of occupational malignant tumors as well as the cause of their small number.
