Development of Croatian terminology in the area of inventive industry

Sažetak
The article deals with the nomenclature of the Croatian language in the area of inventions
and their protection and application. The paper will present historicisms that were used
to translate the Latin term “inventio” from the 16th to the 20th century as a contribution
to the study of the history of Croatian technical terminology. Explanations in Croatian
dictionaries will be presented, especially those published in the last thirty years. External
factors that influenced terminological changes in this area, such as industrial development
and the progress of patent legislation, will be determined. Accordingly, legal acts and terms
of patent legislation from 1895 to the present day will be presented. The mentioned terms
in modern legal expression will also be processed, i.e., in the laws of intellectual property
rights that are in force. A comparative analysis of the interpretation of the terms in question
will be carried out and differences in meaning across various disciplines will be determined
