Sažetak

Artificial intelligence models such as ChatGPT are becoming increasingly
present in the education system. Research has shown that such models offer
many opportunities, such as the creation of teaching materials, lesson plans for
various school types, etc., but also, they violate privacy, discriminate, facilitate
cheating, etc. This paper investigates whether ChatGPT can be used to create
tasks for assessing comprehension of reading and listening texts in classes
of German as a foreign language. The study was conducted with elementary
school students. One tasks were generated by ChatGPT, and the other tasks
were prepared by the textbook authors. The texts are part of the textbook. The
goal of this paper was to find out whether the students will achieve better results
in the tasks generated by the ChatGPT or in the tasks created by the textbook authors.
The results showed that the students gave more correct answers
to the ChatGPT-generated tasks on the reading text and that they gave more
correct answers in the task on the listening text created by textbook authors.
This indicates that the tasks generated by ChatGPT can be an alternative to the
tasks in the textbooks, especially if students should improve their understanding
of particular texts.
