Abstract

This paper explores the relationship between the Qur’an and the biblical Psalms, with a focus on the qur’anic ayats (lines, verses) that mention al-Zabūr (Zebur) and Dawūd (David). In examining the relevant qur’anic ayats, both historical and contemporary research are considered. Furthermore, a concise textual analysis is conducted, with particular attention to the direct quotation from the Psalter in the qur’anic Surah 21 (The Prophets). The study aims to highlight parallels between these two sacred texts and their theological implications, demonstrate the influence of the biblical Psalms on the revelation of the Quran, and examine their contribution to the shaping of Islamic theology and devotion.
