Abstract

Civil engineering is one of the traditional professions of Littoral inhabitants, who are known all over the world as skilled bricklayers and stonemasons, from Europe, both Americas, Africa, Asia and Australia. In 1908 the Mason's School was opened in Crikvenica and after that another two educational institutions in the Rijeka area. At the end of the Second World War a number of smaller as well as larger construction businesses were established. In the second part of the article are listed the civil engineers who have worked in the large Hidroelektra company and people from Vinodol who worked in managerial positions in Croatian civil engineering.
