"NOVLJANSKO KOLO" THE DEPARTMENT OF ČAKAVSKI PARLIAMENT

Sažetak

The work begins with an account of the Chakavski parliament as a congregation of the organizationsdepartments which work at safeguarding and promoting the Chakavska culture, and then describes the work of the Department "Novljansko kolo". It is common for all departments, for now 25 of them who work mostly Chakavce, who together try to discover, safeguard, promote and develop the riches of the Chakavska national tradition in various areas of the Chakavska culture, created throughout the long centuries. The Department of Novi Vinodolski bears the name "Novljansko kolo", with which it points out one cultural value of Novi Vinodolski, the famous national dance and the many cultural substances which go along with it, that are actually created within it. Special emphasis is put upon the figure of Srećko Kabalin, one of the founders of the Department and its constant president.
