Mato Tkalčević
Sažetak
Imigrants from Littoral region contributed significantly to the economical development of Australian continent. Fishermen from Crikvenica, pioneers of fishing in Fremantle and this part of Western Australia are just one example. People from this region worked in building trade, road and tunnel construction, building of hydro-electric stations and many industrial buildings. Emigrants form Littoral region worked on most buildings in main cities of this large continent. Australian employers have good opinion of croatian workers, since they are capable, good workers, honest and reliable. They showed their value while working and obtaining excellent results. These people gave their contribution to culture, politics, sport and society in general. Although most of them were perfectly integrated in australian society, they never fogot thier native land. As much as it was possible they continued to cherish croatian traditions and customs. Those who imigrated after the WW II founded many croatian schools and tried to inform the rest of the country about the croatian traditions.
