Abstract

In many european countires Saint George is regarded as the protector of shepherds, agriculture and plants. A great number of churches in Littoral region is dedicated to this saint. About the church of Saint George situated between Bribir and Selce local people know an interesting legend. It’s a story about competition between Saint George and Saint Barbara. They had to jump from one hill to another and Saint George succeeded but Saint Barbara didn’t.
