Abstract

The belief in one’s own self-efficacy enables a student to acquire self-regulated learning skills, which potentially paves the way toward academic achievement. Assessment, particularly formative assessment, has been proven to stimulate students’ understanding of the curriculum during the teaching process, and it has a positive impact on learning and teaching processes. In this paper, we aimed at providing a basic theoretical overview of the concept of self-regulated learning and the determinants of self-efficacy as a students’ motivational belief, as well as to present potential connections with assessment. The overview of the presented research indicates the results of the connection between feedback as the key outcome of evaluation, and forms of self-assessment and peer assessment with self-efficacy.
