Abstract

The third part of the paper ”People from Vinodol in the War of National Liberation” brings a review of opinions, civilian and military, that were active in this area as well as intelligence activities. With the founding and working of the judicial system the legalisation of the new government was made stronger as well as the principal that no one can be convicted without a trial. During 1944 and 1945 a difficult economical situation was present that exhausted the population and institutions, but at the same time new hope emerged with the liberation of Dalmatia in early autumn in 1944. Preparations were being made for the new freedom. The 19th Dalmatian Division liberated Vinodol on the16th of April 1945. The 8th Primorsko-Goranska Division liberated Ogulin, Lokve and was active in battles for Sušak. It was also active in the most difficult battles against the 97th German Corps. After these battles it stops its activity at Ilirska Bistrica where on the 25th of June it ceases to exist as a war formation in accordance with the new organisation of the National Liberation Army. At the end the author gives a summary of more important features and consequences of the War for National Liberation in this region and it draws attention to some events that haven’t been sufficiently analysed in today’s literature.
