Some clothing accessories and textile items from rural Dalmatia

Abstract

Building on a previous exhibition of early 20th-century textile crafts and traditional costumes from Dalmatia, this article describes other clothing accessories and textile items, thus continuing on recent lay-friendly, expert portrayals of folk art. Basic clothing items that constitute a certain region’s traditional attire are usually complemented by other pieces. This text focuses on socks, footwear, and bags, while also mentioning other textile items used in the traditional economy and households.
